Resonant Frequencies

A five foot ceramic resonating chamber with various apertures sits over a speaker playing a randomly fluctuating pure tone at a constant volume. As the tone changes pitch, the ceramic shapes and amplifies it differently, causing changes in volume and obvious vibration.

Resonance: Ephemera

An architectural extension of the gallery wall carries 35 diverse ceramic forms, each set over a speaker. These speakers each play unique sound at low volume, ranging from sounds of movement (walking, dancing) to conversations and ambient noise. The forms shape these ephemera and pull the viewer in to numerous small worlds.
